Every parent wants their children to be well equipped to face the challenges that exist in the world, Amen? This starts with a safe home, loving parents, mindful parenting techniques that all come together to create a harmonious atmosphere that kids can grow up in and develop emotional stability and confidence.
Parenting in peace comes so much easier when we invite God’s presence into the home.

What is Parenting in Peace?
The scripture says in Ephesians 6:4 that “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
This means as parents, we want to raise our children in an atmosphere of peace. We don’t want to create overbearing rules or overwhelming expectations for the tiny humans we’re raising. All of that is bound to frustrate and leave kids feeling like they can never be good enough.
How to Parent in Peace
We want our homes to be a haven of peace where constant love and harmony abide. Whether in a nuclear or single parent family, the bible provides several ways in which we can parent peacefully. Let’s take a look!
❤️ Parent by showing love to our Children
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. -1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
❤️ Parent by establishing healthy parent-child relationships/bonds
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. -Proverbs 1:8-9 NIV
❤️ Parent by showing compassion
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. -Psalm 103:13 NIV
❤️ Parent by creating a peaceful environment for your children
All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace. -Isaiah 54:13 NIV
❤️ Parent by showing respect – respect begets respect.
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. -Matthew 7:12 NIV
❤️ Parent by showing patience, especially during stressful situations.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. -Colossians 3:12 NIV
❤️ Parent by setting good examples – Your children are influenced by your words and action.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. -Deuteronomy 6:6 -7 NIV
❤️ Parent by praying over your children
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
❤️ Parent by showing Forgiveness – What if God should refuse to forgive you?
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
-Matthew 6:14-15 NIV

Peaceful parenting, letting God’s Word guide us, creates an atmosphere of tranquility, love and acceptance in the home. Children can comfortably express themselves because we’re willing to listen. They develop into whole individuals who can thrive out there in the world – which is what we want!
