If you aren’t creating, you are consuming

Grow Faith

There was a time quite a few years ago that I started Treasured Nest. I love the dictionary and what those two words together could mean.

Treasure – to regard or treat as precious

Nest – a retreat, a resting place; home

The thing is that I started and then stopped for “Shiny Objects” that caught my eye. I tried several different things and right when I thought I was on the correct path, I went through what I call a dark period (meaning years of chaos, regret, just getting up and breathing each day was all I could do). End of progress.

No worries everyone, I have come out the darkness and things are bright and sparkly now.

TreasuredEssentialOils.com was one of those Shiny Objects and I still love and sell it. My love for it will definitely be sprinkled here. Their daily supplements is what balances my body and there is a reason they gave Frankincense to Jesus but I have been struggling with getting up each morning with that “who am I going to help today?” attitude despite my knowledge of how it has helped me and my family.

I’ve been journaling about a year asking God if there was something else. What was my direction? Is there more I should be doing and then these words where spoken during a devotional time with some of my favorite gals

“If you are not creating, you are consuming.”

Now I have to say, it didn’t hit me all at once but the idea of creating has come up over and over again. Like the very next day in an Article by Holley Gerth. I noticed my creativity in my journaling (the doodles in my margins have come back as of late). I then discovered my old journals that spoke about ideas I had for TreasuredNest.com. Then the domain name came up for renewal…do I hold on? Let go? I was reminded how exciting it was to write for a collaborative book project the end of last year.

So I took a dabble and created a Prayer the Word Journal Printable…well that was fun. Still not sure what to do but quite honestly…the mere act of doing it gave me such joy.

So here I am, participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge because I want to be creating and not consuming.

I worked this weekend on Devotional Gratitude Journal that is almost finished and the creativity is making a difference in my life.

So what about you? Have you been in a non-creative slump like I was? What things do you like to create that gives you joy? Gardening? Pottery or painting? Decorating? Writing? Oh this list could go on and on and is personal to you. Have you been doing it lately? I would love the hear from you.

You are a treasure!

Yes! I’ve been thinking about that. I’ve been consuming so much information lately with all the crazy in the world that I get up from my desk not feeling productive at all.
Plus, time wasted I could have been reading my bible and living it out.

My goal is to create something every day — writing, crafting, even cooking. 🙂

I don’t know how I would have gotten through the last 18 months (or the dark days ahead) without creating. My Bible Journaling and especially my garden have given me much peace. TFS.

Hi there! I’m glad you’re here.

I'm Sheryl, Chief Encourager here at Treasured Nest.

To me our home is our treasured nest. I'm a bit of word nerd so when you look up those two words it fits perfectly.

Treasure - to regard or treat as precious

Nest - a retreat, a resting place; home

I understand that life can get messy and chaotic which makes it hard to see the treasure we have before us.

I also know from my own personal struggles that seeing the treasure in ourselves can be well...challenging!!

So Welcome to Treasured Nest...a place where grace abounds and a place with resources to help make home life simpler and less chaotic. A place to build faith to help you gain confidence to see just what a treasure you are.

A Gift for You!
